Pokrajac General Engineering Contractors
Capabilities

The whole dirt package, one contractor.

We hold a Class A General Engineering license and self-perform every scope below. That means one set of crews, one schedule, and nobody to point at when the grade is late.

Excavators and articulated haulers working a wide mass excavation, dozers cutting the bench above.
01 · Mass excavation

Earthwork at scale

Balanced cut and fill, overexcavation and recompaction, import and export. Scraper spreads move the volume; excavators and dozers handle what the scrapers cannot reach.

  • Cut, fill and site balancing
  • Overexcavation and recompaction
  • Deep ripping as an alternative to drilling and blasting
  • Rock breaking with hydraulic hammers
  • Import, export and haul-off

02 · Finish grading

Grade you can build on

Building pads, subgrade and finish grade held to the tolerances your civil and structural drawings call for — including the tighter tolerances required on rail and industrial work.

  • Building pads and slab subgrade
  • Roadway and parking subgrade
  • Fine grading to plan tolerance
  • GPS machine control across the fleet

03 · Underground utilities

Wet and dry systems

Installed by the same crews that graded the site, so the trench work and the grade are one schedule rather than two.

  • Storm drain, inlets and detention
  • Sanitary sewer and water main
  • Cast-in-place drainage structures
  • Joint trench, conduit and dry utilities
  • Gas backfill and installation — NV Energy approved contractor

04 · Paving

Base, asphalt and concrete

Aggregate base through finished surface — parking fields, drive aisles, streets, and heavy-duty sections built for continuous truck traffic.

  • Aggregate base placement and compaction
  • Asphalt paving and heavy-duty sections
  • Curb, gutter, sidewalk and flatwork
  • On-site structural concrete

05 · Site structures

Walls and drainage works

Retaining structures and channel work, including the heavy rockery walls common on Northern Nevada hillside sites.

  • Rockery and retaining walls
  • Rip rap placement, to 1-ton stone
  • Channels and temporary retention ponds
  • Slope stabilization and geofabric

06 · Site preparation

Clearing, demolition, compliance

Everything that has to happen before the first cut, and the erosion control that has to hold until close-out.

  • Demolition and structure removal
  • Clearing and grubbing
  • Erosion control and SWPPP compliance
  • Dust control and water trucks
How we work

We read the drawings before we bid them.

Our management team works directly with owners, developers and civil engineers to identify design elements that can shorten the schedule or bring the job in under budget. That is not a courtesy — it is where the savings on a dirt package actually come from.

On a distribution center in Rialto we caught repeated engineering errors before they became change orders. On the same job we extracted clean sand from on-site material and used it under the building slab, which saved the owner thousands in import.
